Microsoft Power Automate, previously known as Microsoft Flow, is a cloud-based automation service that allows you to create workflows between your favorite apps without a coding background. Power Automate also includes some advanced features that cannot be accomplished using a traditional Dynamics 365 workflow. Some examples include triggering a workflow to run on a schedule or looping through a list of child records. In addition, Power Automate provides templates so that you can avoid starting from scratch.

Power Automate can be utilized for both internal and external processes. Some simple use case examples include:

• Closing records that meet date criteria. One example could be closing expired quotes. With Power Automate you can schedule the automation to check every day at a specific time to determine if any quotes should be closed.
• Creating an approval process that includes sending an email and allowing managers to approve or deny requests directly within the email.
• Updating child records. In the example workflow below, when an Account's address is updated, any child Contacts related to that Account will also be updated with the new address.
